Current Most Used #2

Hey everyone, so its been a while since I've talked about makeup so I thought I would make another Current Most Used post. Im gonna tell you about a couple of beauty products I've been enjoying recently, along with little reviews. So lets get into it.

First up is the lipstick on the very bottom which is by Essence. The colour is number 11 Nude love. Its a pinky nude, its not the most opaque or lost lasting of formulas but its a nice colour and I like it. Essence is a super inexpensive drugstore brand, but they have a lot of great products.

The next product is this eyebrow pencil by The Face Shop. It was super inexpensive and I probably would've paid more for it. Its double ended (as you can see), one end has spooly and the other has the brow product. The pencil part is thin and angled and the consistency is waxy yet creamy at the same time. If you draw out of the lines you can just wipe it away but it also lasts all day. How? I don't know.

This is a lip stick and liner buy Kardashian Beauty. I got this as a gift from my amazing friend Yung Apparel when she visited the states and I've been loving it since. This is my new favourite lip colour and formula, the lipstick especially. Its a super creamy consistency and dries to a matte finish. The colour is a brown pink nude almost mauve (very specific). It lasts well, and is easy to reapply because its so creamy.

I bought this Mac powder recently because I ran out of my last one. Its the Blot Powder and its in the shade light. It is basically just a very matte powder that I got to keep my shine under control and it does, better than any normal powder. I need to test it out more so that I can compare it to the Too Faced Primed and Poreless powder, so maybe you guys will get an update on that.

This is the famous Make Up Forever HD Foundation and it might just live up to its expectations. The colour is 115 and let me say if you are super fair like me then it may be difficult to colour match. Its not that they don't go light, they do. But all there light shades have pink undertones, and not just a little bit. The picture doesn't show it but even this shade is pink, which doesn't suite me so I end up dealing with it or mixing another foundation with it. Anyways, the reason I like this foundation is because it is so natural looking. The finish isn't matte or dewy it just looks like skin. Now it is no where near full coverage as it claims, but it is build able.

I bought this Sonia Kashuk brush from Target a couple months ago and I've just fallen more and more for it ever since. I can use it for anything from powder to blush to highlighter or whatever I feel like. Its real hair which I usually don't like but it hasn't gotten rough yet and the bristle fall out could be worse. It blends out product really well, and  has maintained its shape. Im sure there is more Sonia Kashuk to be added to my collection.

This is the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Palette which I picked up a little while in Washington. All the colours are pigmented except for sheer joy, but I think thats intended. All the colours are nice but my favourites are Soulful, Warmth, Sunrise and Mocha (which is also good for contouring). They aren't too powdery and they are really blendable. All the colours are claimed to be matte but some of them do have little tiny glitters. Overall its a great palette with a good variety of shades.

The last product is a highlighter again from The Face Shop, called I Make You Brighter. Most of the products from The Face Shop are very well priced, which is unbelievable for the quality. The highlighter is basically a white gold colour. It doesn't have glitter chunks and it isn't too sparkly. You can apply just a bit and have a nice sheen or you can pack it on and have your cheekbone super sheeny. I tend to pack it on.

Those are all my beauty favourites at the moment. Let me know what yours are, all my links are in the side bar. Hope you've enjoyed this post.
See you soon,
Xx

Recent Most Worn #1

Hey everyone,
So today I'm gonna be doing a clothing twist on my 'Recent Most Used' post. I think that I am going to make this a series kind of thing too, so let me know what you think. Basically I am going to be showing you the pieces of clothing that I haven't been able to put away recently, so lets get into it.

I actually only bought this shirt a couple of days ago and I already love it. Its super soft and stretchy and its probably one of the most comfortable tops I own. Its just a basic navy and white stripe so its super easy to pair with anything and everything. Easily one of my favourites already.

Vintage Levi Cut-Offs

Second up are these denim shorts, a summer staple. I prefer a light blue wash just because I like the look better. I love how they are high waisted which means I can wear them with crop tops or normal tops or whatever I like. They aren't stretchy at all, but thats very common with vintage jeans.

Zara Basic Tee

Next up is this plain white tee. Thats basically it. Its super soft and thin, which can be a problem sometimes. I can tie or knot it and it looks good, or I can just leave it too. But overall its just I comfy white t-shirt that I can throw on with anything, another basic.

Vintage Baseball Tee

Woah colour? Im not quite sure that this even counts but oh well. This shirt is actually one of the only things that isn't black white or grey (or denim) that I have been wearing recently, and I absolutely love it. I want to wear it everyday but I restrain myself, I can practically wear it with anything. Its 3/4 length sleeves makes it perfect for days that its not scolding outside (like recently) but I will also be able to wear it in colder months, win win. And I am sure that you will see this piece again in another post.

Urban Outfitters Necklace

This has been my favourite necklace duo for a while now. Even though the silver chain is just that, a silver chain, I still love pairing it with different pieces. Both necklaces are so light and delicate that I think they work well together and I can stop wearing either.

H&M Shorts

These shorts you've seen before in my haul. They are a sweat short fit but made out of a silkier more light weight fabric. I have been wearing these shorts to death. They are perfect for days when its way too hot outside, and they are one again, so comfortable (that seems to be a theme).

And once again my eytys, as expected. I know that I said I would be bringing new shoes into the picture and I will, they should be featured in an upcoming post. I just really love these shoes. I think when I wear them they just make my outfit better, plus they are super comfy and durable. They are pretty dirty but I honestly don't mind at this point.

The "Light" Trend || Spring/Summer 2014

From light jeans to white shoes, light muted colours have been very on trend for this summer. Greys, whites, blues you name it. Personally I don't mind this trend because my wardrobe lacks much colour. Now, I am not saying that you have to dress on trend, much of the time I don't. But the "Trends" I am talking about are just observations. This photo is of Jason Wu's Spring/Summer line up for New York Fashion Week 2014.

I am bringing up these particular trends because they are the ones I have seen people wearing on the street as well as the runway. A lot of the time some trends that you see during fashion week aren't brought into everyday life because they aren't that realistic. But these ones are, and I have to say I quite enjoy them. These next pictures are of Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 2014 Collection. I must say there are a couple of pieces I wouldn't mind having myself from either of their collections.

Even with makeup this Spring/Summer season has been weightless. And by that I mean simple and delicate. Models makeup on the runway have been lighter and airier than past years. With light washes on the lids and lighter colours on the lips and less bold than past years (not that I don't love a bold lip), not that they weren't seen, they were, but much of the majority at NYFW was the barely there look. Highlighters, brows and pastels seem to be very common this time round.

Along with some gold brows by Dior, of course.

I am definitely going to try to pull off some of these looks myself, maybe not the gold brows (maybe one day). So I hope you have enjoyed this different kind of post. I want to do more along the same lines, so let me know what you think.

I'll see you soon.

Current Most Used #1

So I thought, instead of writing about my 'Monthly Favourites' why not write about my current ones. You might be confused about how they are different, but they are. Not that I will never write a monthly favourites, but I feel like I don't get enough new things to write about every month, and I don't want to constantly repeat myself. So, why not write whenever I felt that I had been favouring particular items within my collection, make sense?

First off lets start with eyeshadows. The palette is the Nars Fairy's Kiss Palette which yes is limited edition, I know. But the shade that I want to talk about it available in Nars' regular collection also. It is the one in the middle of the top row called Kalahari. Its a bronzy shimmery brown, and I know I'm pretty great at descriptions. Basically it is a beautiful easy to wear colour that you can just brush over your lids and it'll look good.

This second colour is Mac's Soft Brown which I have wanted for a long time after seeing it everywhere. So when I spotted it in store I had to pick it up. Its a very warmed tone brown which I think makes a great crease and transition colour. Just so you know it is a little different than how it shows up in the photo.

Next up is one of the new L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick's in 600 Doutzen's Pink. Their new collection is a group of different nude lipsticks and nail polishes by 6 iconic L'oreal models. This one is a super light and sheer pink and obviously its by Doutzen Kroes. Even though it is sheer, it still provides enough colour to make your lips a little more nude and pink.

Benefits eye bright is the perfect colour to highlight anything around your eye, seriously. I use it to highlight my brow bone, inner corner, water line, you name it. Its a multipurpose product and I love it.

This is Nars' blush in Sin. Its a cool berry colour with gold reflex and I think its amazing just for a nice pick-me-up on your cheeks. Also I can only assume that all Nars blush's in general (as I only have one) are all as blendable and smooth as this one. P.S. It looks much more red toned in the picture than it actually is.

I picked up this Rimmel nail polish after seeing a picture of it on Instagram and I needed it. Its the perfect pink nude colour (I want it in lipstick form). I've never had a nail polish from the range before and so far its been holding up pretty well.
